1 8 oz package mushrooms sliced, button or mixture of choice 2 T. Earth Balance margarine 1/2 fist sized onion, diced small 1 clove garlic, crushed 1 t. dried thyme 1/4 c. Madeira wine, or other wine of choice 2 T. Bragg's Liquid Aminos 1 cube vegan beef boullion 2 cups of filtered water 2 heaping T. corn starch Saute mushrooms & onion in the margarine. After mushroom liquid is cooked away and onion is tranlucent, add the garlic & thymeand saute for 1-2 more minutes. Add the wine and Braggs's, bring to a boil. Add boullion cube and crush it in the liquid. Add one cup of the water and bring to boil again. Meanwhile, mix together remaining cup of water and the cornstarch. Add to boiling mixture and stir until throroughly combined. Continue cooking on high until the mixture starts to thicken, turn to low and keep warm until ready to eat. Try not to eat it all before you pour it over something...
Yield: About 2 cups (enough for me...better make more if you want to serve a lot of people...I really like gravy) |
